Blogger Spotlight on Donna Latvis

Welcome back to another Blogger Spotlight. For these articles, I have sent out a request o anybody who would be interested in having their blog shown on another blog to reach out and answer some questions for me. Today we’ll be highlighting Donna Latvis.

Donna Latvis isn’t your typical 20 or 30-something blogger. She’s a self-deprecating 62-year-old who struggles with technology but loves to write and hopes to influence people with her writing.

What made you get into blogging?

I am new to blogging. I am 62 and have loved to write since my early teens. On August 24 2021, my new Inspirational novel was released “On The Edge”. So I wanted to start a blog to let people know about my published books. What I am working on now. To share examples of my writing and photography. And to let people get to know about me.

What’s your most successful post?

“My Favorite Things” has had the most response so far. Where I share what I like to read. My favourite food., that I would love to live in a log cabin, and what started my love for animals. Sound observations and personal experiences I’ve had when it comes to addictive and attention-seeking behaviours.

What’s been your biggest uphill battle with blogging?

I have 2 things that I struggle with. First, if there is any technical problem I am lost. And have to try to get in touch with my daughter for help. You have to remember that back in the 1970s when I was in school they didn’t teach computers. So I have been learning as I run into issues. The second struggle is I get mad at myself if I have planned to work on my blog and something comes up so I don’t have the time.

What are you most proud of about your blog?

Although my blog is new. I have already had some very nice comments about some of the examples of my writing. And that makes me very proud. As a writer, I want to touch people with my writing; to bring them hope and make them think.

What one tip would you give to people looking to start a blog?

I would tell people to give it time. It might take a while to get noticed and get a following, but don’t give up. Keep adding content and working on your blog. And don’t be afraid to ask for advice if you need to.
