This not only allows me to look back and see which articles did the best that month but it also allows any budding bloggers to see what worked for me that month.
This month my top five features three book reviews and my two round-up articles.
It’s great to see the round-up articles getting some traction as I post these fairly consistently and so it’s nice to see them still getting some interest.
The three book reviews include two very popular social media sensations and the finale to a very famous book trilogy. I mean if you can’t see it poking out the bottom of your screen, give it a quick scroll and you’ll see it.
So here is a round-up of the five articles that performed the best in October including an excerpt from each:
5. The Amber Spyglass by Philip Pullman book review
“Unfortunately, The Amber Spyglass was bang average. A chance to round off one of the most imaginative series in literature is squandered by some odd character choices, a severe lack of plot ideas and a generally underwhelming affair all around. I’ll continue to read the other books set in this world but it’s such a shame this final book didn’t hit the climax that the previous two set it up to have.”

The characters are admirable, and lovable and add layers to the plot. In an impressive feat, Taylor Jenkins Reid manages to tell the incredible life of a fascinating human being without writing a 600+ page book. And this is all tied up with a wonderful bow of a twist right at the end. Add The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo to your TBR if it isn’t already. If it’s already on there, move it right to the top. It’s that damn good.”

1. Verity by Colleen Hoover book review
“Verity by Colleen Hoover was sold to me as one of the best books people had read – “amazing” and “mind-blowing” were some of the terms used on social media when I asked if anyone had read it. I have to say – it’s so hard to review as for the first 95% it was tense but incredibly easy to guess, however, the final 5% completely changes everything you’ve read in the book and I don’t know whether it was a great book as a result or an easy way for Hoover to make a fairly average novel suddenly flip on its head and mean something entirely different.
For some, Verity will blow your minds, for others, it may frustrate you. I sit firmly in the middle. I loved it but I will forever remain confused as to how much I loved it.”

Post round-up
This month was one of my least productive for a while. My cat passed away about a week ago and so feeling like my blog was worthwhile didn’t feel right. I wanted to concentrate on remembering her and focus on making us happy at the time. I do however have some great articles coming up including a couple of unique ones over the coming month!
The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo could well be one of my books of the year so make sure to look out for it in my final list at the end of next month (as if next month is December already).
