My Top 5 Posts on my Blog in August 2022

Every month I like to look back and see which posts from those I posted did the best. This not only allows me to keep a historical archive of which articles have done the best so I can then use these going forward or when I need to look back for inspiration but it also allows me to share content with those of you who are aspiring bloggers.

These posts below are the top five performing meaning they received the most amount of views from the month.

These posts have all been posted within this month. If I posted the top five most-viewed articles each month that weren’t posted in that month, they’d all be fairly similar and repetitive.

So here are the top five most viewed blog posts from the past month:

5. 5 Fantasy Series I Really Want To Finish

“I love starting new series which is a problem as it means I often don’t finish many. However, there are a few fantasy series that I know I definitely want to finish as I’m fallen in love with the books I’ve read so far.”

4. My July 2022 Reading Round-Up – Why I Only Read Three Books This Month

“July was a slower month of reading for me because essentially I picked up a tomb of a book in Gardens of the Moon by Steven Erikson. Gardens of the Moon is over 600 pages long and is a very deep and challenging fantasy book to read. More on that later though.”

3. Malice by John Gwynne book review

“Despite two 4.5/5 ratings, Malice is not a four-star read, it’s definitely better than that. Gwynne’s ability to create a world, fill it with likeable and deep characters and then tell a believable, engaging and immersive story is a real talent. Malice’s sprawling lands, building conflicts and epic final 100 pages made this another fantasy by John Gwynne that I would happily recommend to any fantasy fan.”

2. I Answer ALL The Bookish Questions – 50 Book Questions To Ask Your Friends

“I was browsing the web, looking for some book tags to do (they’re always great fun and I often realise something about my reading habits I didn’t know) and came across Owlcation’s “50 Questions About Books and Reading to Ask Your Friends” and thought there was great some great questions in there.”

1. Normal People by Sally Rooney book review

“I didn’t know whether to give Normal People 5 stars or not. I came out of it absolutely loving it – but I think this might be because I’d naively fallen in love with the relationship between Connell and Marianne. When I looked back at what had actually happened – the story, the key plot points etc, I realised there wasn’t a huge amount there. I’ll tell people I thoroughly enjoyed this book and would recommend it, however completely understand why some people might find it boring too.”

Thoughts?

It’s great to see a book review as the most-viewed article. I had done some posting about Normal People beforehand and so that probably explains why it did so well. It was also a very popular and controversial book with a lot of people likely wanting to see if my opinion reflects their own.

I’m hoping to write more features this month having started a new series where I’m hoping to offer some guides and tips to those looking to get into blogging. Hopefully, they’ll be of some help.
